Biografía de Scarlett Etienne

Scarlett Etienne es alguien diferente – un talento inimitable y
imposible de poder fijarle bien el dedo. A través de sus muchos
roles evolucionarios – ya sea como DJ, productora, cantante, autora
o encabezadora de disquera – todo lo que Etienne hace esta enlazado
con su amor por la música, su cumplimiento musical y su sabio
conocimiento de cómo hacer que se mueva la pista de baile. Su
estilo de vida numídico la ha visto tomar la cultura “underground”

Habiendo demostrado un talento sin medidas como una
multi-instrumentalista en su juventud, ya que ella creció tocando y
produciendo una variedad de bandas en sus tempranos años
adolescentes. A pesar de todo, fue una mudanza a Nueva York que la
atrajo a la música electrónica, rápidamente enamorándose de ese
ambiente. Inspirada por DJs como Danny Tenaglia, Larry Tee y Junior
Vasquez, esto fue el impulso que la envió por un nuevo y exitoso

Factory de Nueva York, Etienne exitosamente ha abierto su propio

No dispuesta a sentarse en sus laureles, Scarlett Etienne

Scarlett Etienne is one of a rare breed - an inimitable talent and
an artist that is impossible to pin down. Through her many
ever-evolving roles - be it club DJ, producer, singer, songwriter
or label head - everything Etienne does is imbued with her
superlative love for music, accomplished musicianship and an
uncanny understanding of how to move a dancefloor. Her nomadic
lifestyle has seen her take in the underground culture offered by
everywhere from New York to Berlin to London, and this open-minded
attitude permeates her music.
Having displayed a prodigal talent as a multi-instrumentalist in
her youth, she grew up playing in and producing a variety of bands
throughout her early teens. However, it was a move to New York that
drew her to electronic music, quickly becoming enamoured by the
scene. Inspired by DJs like Danny Tenaglia, Larry Tee and Junior
Vasquez, this acted as a catalyst on setting her off down a new and
fruitful path, delving into the underground sounds of techno.
Since winning her first residency at New York’s Sound Factory,
Etienne has relentlessly forged her own path, picking up a number
of revered residencies and an impressive back catalogue on the way.
It was her UK debut at the Crosstown Rebels party, Out Of Order, at
the now defunct The End club in London, however, that started to
garner her increasing amounts of attention, winning international
residencies and initiating a burgeoning DJ schedule that has
continued to grow ever since.
These days she can be seen gracing the decks everywhere from the
infamous bastion of techno Watergate in Berlin to Club Midi in
Romania and Likuid Club in Hong Kong, where she is a resident.
Eager to continue pushing the envelope, she works closely with
Native Instruments and Pioneer Pro DJ to incorporate cutting-edge
software into her shows, amalgamating elements of live performance
in to her sets.
On top of her hectic touring schedule, she also finds the time to
go into the studio, honing her craft as a techno producer of the
finest pedigree. She has enjoyed a prolific partnership with
production duo Audiofly, with tracks like ‘Loose Lips Sync Ships’
and ‘Earsex’ winning acclaim from critics and fans alike with their
visceral yet intricate take on techno. More recently Etienne has
also been releasing solo material through her own Starlett Records
imprint, with the sultry ‘Sequin Burn’ and ‘Serious?’ EPs coming
out last year. With a number of releases set for later this year,
Scarlett’s star remains firmly in the ascendant.
Unwilling to rest on her laurels, Scarlett Etienne currently has a
number of new projects on the go as well, with much more to be
revealed in the coming months…
